I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.

A study of Jeremiah chapters 42 through 44 which focuses on mixing man’s “wisdom” with the Word of God. (Judah perverts the warning of God not to go to Egypt. Judah ignored the warning to their peril.) Jesus warned about the leaven of religion and politics. God’s Word will stand and humanism will be burned up.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
First Peter chapter 3 verse 15.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret-it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth.
Psalm 37 verses 7-9
Your hands have made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.
Psalm 119 verse 73.
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew chapter 16 verse 26
The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.
Habakkuk chapter 3 verse 19.
My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.
Psalm 63 verse 8
For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.
Psalm 33 verse 9
Jeremiah study 3-5. Asking respectful, meaningful questions of the Lord is important. But, listening for His response mostly through His Word is essential. How is my prayer life? Daniel, when warned by edict not to pray, prayed morning, noon and night. The Lord protected him from the consequences. There are unseen forces fighting answers to prayer. But, we need to keep on praying anyway.
